Easycover Camera case

Two weeks ago I purchased an Easycover camera case for my Canon 1dxii, it arrived well packaged and within 72 hours of me ordering it from UK Highland Camera Case

I'm a full time professional wedding photographer and like many other professional photographers my kit isn't wrapped up in cotton wool and treated with kid gloves, it can often be seen placed on gravel or in a flower bed to the side of me whilst I interact with my bride and groom during a group photos.

As you can imagine when your shooting 40+ weddings a year this can take its toll on your equipment, my cameras when I come to trade them in often look like I was the photographer in a Bagdhad war zone, the result in this is my investment is worth somewhat less than what it would be had I stayed away from that gravel path or flower bed.

When I opened the packaging I was quite surprised how flimsy it felt so if i'm honest I didn't hold out much chance of this lasting a full days wedding photography.

How wrong was I !!!!

So I'm now over 5 weddings into using the Easycover camera case and I love it, yes its made the camera that little bit bigger in my hands but it feels nice to hold and being rubber my hands grip to it nicely.

I also must point out that along with this I do also use the Spider Holster and they both work and fit really well together, the housing is self fits like a glove and is an exact match to the actual 1dx Mark ii body its self, so much so I didn't even think it would fit it was that precise !!

The buttons all line up perfectly and they are clearly labeled up so if you need to glance at your camera you can clearly see the name of the button you are about to engage.

I honestly can't fault this and wish i'd brought one for every other camera I have previously purchased, the result would probably mean I'd have a few more extra quid to spend on those all important lenses.

Dream Wedding Dress At Swancar Farm

Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with the team at Dream Wedding Dress in the stunning grounds of Swancar Farm wedding venue based in Trowell.

Makeup was supplied by Lisa at Appearance Hair And Makeup who are situated just a few miles down the road from this beautiful wedding venue.

Our model was Yenna and our Groom was Tom, the photoshoot commenced at 10:30am and our last image was taken just after 4pm, with such a great team to work with we had plenty of fun along the way.

Here are just a few images taken on the day, all dresses supplied can be purchased from Dream Wedding dress who are at the top of Canning Circus just a 1 minute drive from Nottingham city centre.

I always love to be a Nottingham Wedding photographer at Swancar farm as the results we achieve are nothing but fantastic.

Thank you so much to Tracy and her team of truly professional staff for all their help on the day and supplying us with a lovely canvas to work with.

Weston Hall Mr And Mrs Sinclair

Venue: Weston Hall

Bride: Gemma

Groom: Calum

Wedding Date: 9th October 2016

Date Booked: 10th January 2015

Wedding dress: Brides And Gowns Derby

Such an emotional wedding to have captured, Gemma's bridal prep was at their lovely 3 story family home in Derby, I arrived at their house at 9:30am and would capture their bridal prep until 11:30am where we would finish just moments after capturing the first glance as dad see's his daughter in her wedding dress.

The journey to Weston Hall was around 45 minutes, we left the bridal prep at about 11:45am to make the 45 minute journey this would allow me plenty of time to capture the grooms men as they awaited the bride who was arriving in a beautiful Rolls Royce Phantom.

Gemma's Dad was so proud to walk his daughter down the isle where he would give his beautiful daughters hand in marriage to Calum.

Calum really was very relaxed on the day and all the grooms men were in great spirit, spirit being the operative word as these were Scottish men in kilts drinking rather large shots of whisky.

It was a very emotional wedding for for everyone who attended and many tears were shed including my self who i'm not ashamed to admit at one point in the evening I had to capture what was needed and then leave the room.

Below are just a few images from Gemma and Calums wedding day, please feel free to leave a comment below.

Wedding photography for me is my passion and Austen Blakemore Photography is a business I'm so very proud of, if you would like a Nottingham Wedding Photographer to capture your wedding day I do cover the entire Uk and abroad.

Nottingham Portrait Photographer The Lear Family

I have known Sarah for a while now, not only was she guest at a wedding I captured last year with the Lineker family but she also comes to my camera club meeting I often hold.

This portrait photography session was captured just outside Sandiacre on No Mans Lans, we met at about 6:30pm just before the sun was due to set behind the tree we used for the backdrop.

I had to work quick in order to obtain a good selection of images for Craig and Sarah, the kids were hyper but we managed to calm them down as they quickly burnt off their energy running round the field.

You can also see previous Family portraits here.

If you need a Nottingham Portrait Photographer to capture your family photos please feel free to contact me.

Nottingham Wedding Photographer Jemma And Scott

Venue: Basford Hall

Bride: Jemma

Groom: Scott

Wedding Date: 15th September 2016

Date Booked: 15th February 2016

Bridal prep was at a lovely house just outside Nottingham, Jemma and her fantastic crew of bridesmaids were on hand to make sure the day went as planned and there were no hiccups along the way.

Everything was calm during the bridal prep and we were all running on time for an 11:30am wedding ceremony at Welbeck Hall in West Bridgford.

I arrived at 11am to capture Scott and his guests as they early await the bride, Jemma arrived, the guests all stood up to meet the bride as she walked down the isle with her Dad and son by her side.

After the ceremony we headed just a 30 second walk to the Embankment bridge where I proceed to to capture both the group shots and the odd candid moment as guests were un aware they were being photographed.

After we finished the group shots the guests headed to Basford Hall and I continued with the Bride and Groom portraits on the bridge.

Here are just a few images captured by their Nottingham Wedding Photographer Austen Blakemore

I'm not very good at writing blogs so if you want to see how the professionals do it why not read more about the wedding day at To my Best Friend on your Wedding Day

Nottingham Wedding Photographer Mr And Mrs Lewis

Venue: Nottinghamshire Golf And Country Club

Bride: Leanne

Groom: Jeff

Wedding Date: 17th September 2016

Date Booked: 22nd October 2015

Well as you know It's very rare I ever get the chance to blog, if i'm honest it's more the fact that I never remember to do it.

It's nearly 9pm at night on 25/9/16 and I though I would just write a quick blog post sharing some of the images I captured when I was at The Nottinghamshire Golf And Country Club the other week.

The weather In the morning was pretty awful if I'm honest, I had been checking the weather reports actively on my iPhone and it was due to clear by around 3pm.

The ceremony was at 1:30pm, it was as if the big man upstairs was watching over the ceremony as almost as soon as Leanne and Jeff kissed the weather almost immediately changed FOR THE BETTER.

By 2:15pm we were all outside and I was cracking on with the group list , there was laughter and plenty of love to be captured as the bridesmaids and the best men joined in to help find the guests that were required for each photo.

I do love being a Nottingham Wedding Photographer and I really did enjoy this wedding, here are just a VERY small selection of images from their wedding day.

Big thank you to my assistant Dirk, yes you might shoot Nikon but I will forgive for that !!

Jo Payne Travel Blogger

Today I had the privilege of photographing the amazing Travel Blogger Jo Payne, Jo as the post suggest has travelled the world and blogged her life in the process.

Why not follow her fantastic blog at www.jogoeswalkabout.blogspot.co.uk, Jo is also a keen photographer and has superbly documented her travel armed with her camera and her backpack.

Fell free to  read her latest blog post Arizona Horses - The wildlife of South Mountain where Jo can be seen hiking with horses near Ponderosa Stables.

Jo you are such a kind young lady who has already made her mark on the world.

I wish you all the best in the future.

Nottingham Portrait Photographer Melissa

It's very rare I photograph portraits during wedding season but Melissa came to the studio to pick up her USB of the images we captured from a previous portrait shoot we did a few months back.

I decided to get the speedlights out and have a go at something I've always wanted to try, this took about 10 minutes to capture something I was happy with.

The image on the right shows where we were when the the image was captured, I often like to show how and where an image was created so you can see the simplicity of the shoot and the surroundings it was taken in.

Wollaton Park Portraits The Bennett Family

The Bennett family booked me one month in advance for their Wollaton Park Portraits, there were 7 people in total including Mum and Dad, however Mum and Dad didn't want their photos taking, today was all about their kids and capturing their personalities.

We walked around the grounds for just over 90 minutes having lots of fun and plenty of running around, obviously part of being a Nottingham Portrait Photographer is all about entertaining the kids so we all played PokemonGo as well.

Please feel free to contact me if you are looking for a Nottingham Photographer

Mr And Mrs Robertson The Tipi Wedding

Hi there !!

I'm running a little behind on blogging, well ok I might as well not have a blog as I never get the chance to write one ha ha

I just have to share some of these stunning images with you from Mr And Mrs Robertson's wedding, they booked Sami Tipi who provided the most amazing venue to hold any wedding reception at.

These weather was great and the views were stunning, we were in a field in the middle of a lovely village in Onecote, Staffordshire.

The entertainment was as always supplied by non other than Paul Grundle Magician who entertained the guests with comedy and his mind boggling magic.

Below are a few images from Mr And Mrs Robertson's truly magical day in a field that was once Kieran's family home as he was growing up, i honestly can't think of a more magical location to have a wedding reception than here within the stunning grounds where you once grew up.

Danique and Kieran I loved every minute of your wedding day, thank you so much for booking me to capture these amazing memories.

Here are just a few teaser images from your wedding day..............

Although this wedding was in Staffordshire if you are looking for a Nottingham Wedding Photographer or any location in the UK I would love to hear from you.

Mr And Mrs Crarer White Hart Inn Wedding Photographer

Venue: White Hart Inn Moorwood Moor

Bride: Laura

Groom: Oliver

Wedding Date: 16th July 2016

Date Booked: 19th November 2016

Entertainment: Paul Grundle Magician

My most memorable moment: The look of amazement on the bride and groom face when they viewed the imaged from the pond on the back of the camera.

What an amazing day to have for any wedding photographer, Laura and Oliver's day really was a day I will remember for such a long time, firstly because it was also my wedding anniversary as well the truly fantastic atmosphere there was.

As with most of my weddings I capture the entertainment was supplied by non other than the amazing Paul Grundle Magician, Paul was here to entertain the guests after their meal and during the time the bride and groom were taken away for photos.

As a Nottingham Wedding Photographer this was the first time I've ever shot at this Derbyshire Wedding venue The White Hart Inn, I was blown away by this venue and the stunning grounds available for images, situated just 25 miles from junction 25 of the M1 it took me around 35 minutes to travel to, making it easy access for couples searching for a venue within a 25 mile radius of Nottingham.

Laura's bridal prep was at her parents home in Matlock, just a short journey in the car and we were at All Saints Church in Matlock for their wedding ceremony at 1pm, after the ceremony we made our way to the White Hart Inn for drinks and canopies, the speeches were in their beautifully lit main room where all 80 guests ate food and laughed at the wedding speeches, in the evening the wedding party doubled to 160 guests who were entertained by Paul Grundle Magician.

Here are just a few images from Laura and Oliver's fantastic wedding day, i'm a full time Nottingham wedding Photographer and would highly recommend this stunning venue.

If you would like to see more from The White Hart please take a look at Mr And Mrs Morley White Hart Inn

I hope you enjoy these images as much as I did taking them.

Paul Grundle Wedding Magician

Looking for entertainment for your guests whilst your having your photos taken ?

Maybe you want to entertain your guests and watch as Paul Grundle Magician amazes them with his close up magic and entertainment.

Your guests will be in tears with his humour and his infections personality, i've worked with Paul at well over 30+ wedding now and every time he is a complete hit with the Bride and Groom and their wedding guests.

Please feel free to contact Paul and mention Austen Blakemore Photography, I'm sure Paul will be more than happy to look after you.

Calke Abbey Wildlife

Today we went to Calke Abbey to have a walk around the lake and show my kids the beautiful surroundings.

Obviously being a photographer I went equipped with my Canon 1dx Mark ii and a 400mm f/2.8 lens (as you do) I made the mistake of carrying the kit round with me and boy do my arms ache now !!

However there was a reason, i've alway wanted to photograph a Woodpecker and I had been reliably informed that their bird hide at Calke Abbey was very active with woodpeckers visiting on a daily basis to their bird table.

If like me you are wanting to capture a wood pecker up close then this is the best place to be, although yes it's not actually sat at a tree if you wait around long enough you can actually capture it pecking away at a tree.

Why were there masked men with guns in the Market Square Nottingham

Did you see or hear the guns firing in the Old Market Square in Nottingham today ?

Adam Collins (man on the bike) is ex Royal Marines and is now a stuntman, Adam and his team were shooting a scene for his film called Heart of Chaos.

The crew were set up from around 3:30am and shooting commenced at around 4:30am in the Old Market Square, the area was sealed off with security on hand to keep the public out of the zone where the blank ammunition was being fired.

Eastwood Hall Wedding Mr And Mrs Dakin

Venue: Eastwood Hall

Bride: Katrina

Groom: Jamie

Wedding Date: 27th May 2016

Date Booked: 29th January 2014

Makeup: Lilly Monroes (Tamla and Danielle)

I know I don't post enough on my blog but I think this was warrants writing about........

What an amazing day to have a wedding !!

Yes thats right Katrina and Jamie chose an amazing day to celebrate their wedding as they will now share it with my birthday :-)

Katrina and Jamie booked me 2 1/2 years in advance as they wanted to make sure they secured my wedding photography service far enough in advance so no one else could book it.

Everything was hosted at the stunning Eastwood Hall wedding venue where Katrina would have her bridal prep captured from 9am all ready for their 12:30 ceremony.

The day ran so smoothly and everyone was completely relaxed during the bridal prep, after all we were in the great hands of Lilly Monroes for hair and makeup, having plenty of time and a lovely relaxed environment allows me to capture and create some stunning images.

The weather really could not have been any better, its was warm enough to not have to worry about wearing a jacket or not but just right for a bride in a stunning wedding dress.

My whole goal for the day was to capture beautiful, natural and relaxed images of both katrina and Jamie's children and of course their wedding guests throughout the day, however is was hungry for one particular shot.........THE SUNSET !!!!

As a Nottingham wedding photographer who has worked at Eastwood Hall on so many occasions I know all the best places for capturing images that I know will suit my style and the way I work.

We managed everything on their wedding day from superb Sunsets to amazing popping open the champagne bottle images, we did it all and what an amazing end to my birthday celebrations than capturing a beautiful sunset and having a beer with the the groom.

Katrina and Jamie thank you so much for choosing Austen Blakemore Photography to capture such a truly awesome Nottingham Wedding.

Below are just a FEW of the images taken on their wedding day, please feel free to leave any comments below for Katrina and Jamie

Day Out At RAF Conningsby

Monday the 9th May has been booked in my diary as a day off for nearly 3 months !!

We started out at 8am and made a leisurely drive to photograph the fighter jets at RAF Conningsby, we were luck enough to be able to photograph on both sides of the fence !!

At 1pm we were collected from the main gates and taken inside this most amazing Airbase  and shown round by Kev.

We even managed to sit inside an RAF Typhoon, this is probably something I will not forget in a long time and not everyday you get to be shown round an RAF base and sit inside an £80m fighter jet.

Here are a few images taken from my day off, I feel extremely privileged to have been shown around and experience this.
